The Titleist Vokey SM8 Tour Chrome Wedge incorporates a major technological advancement in its Progressive Center of Gravity (CG), which has been optimized to hover in front of the wedge face while maintaining its vertical position for a more solid feel, improved ball flight, and a squarer clubface at impact. This forward CG placement is achieved by lengthening the hosels and counterbalancing the weight with high-density tungsten placed low in the toe, ultimately increasing the Moment of Inertia (MOI) by up to 7 percent for greater forgiveness. Beyond the mass properties, the SM8 features 100% inspected Spin Milled grooves that are meticulously engineered and cut to the edge, including micro-grooves for partial shots, to maximize spin and shot control. Furthermore, a proprietary heat treatment is applied to the impact area, doubling the groove durability without compromising the wedge's feel. Finally, its performance versatility is secured by offering six unique sole grind options (F, M, S, D, K, and L) designed to expertly fit every golfer's swing type, turf condition, and shot preference.
