Who’s It For

The new Bushnell Hybrid will give players the best of both worlds when it comes to navigating a golf course, as it has both laser rangefinder and GPS capability. More specifically, golfers will be able to see laser yardages and relevant GPS data on their display screen to make it easier to pull the right club and hit the right shot. One Bushnell feature that is not available in the Hybrid, however, is Slope Technology, which calculates adjusted yardages based on inclines. Those who are looking for that capability would be better served with the Bushnell Pro X2 or V4 Shift rangefinder.

The Tech Story

As a GPS unit and a laser rangefinder, the new Bushnell Hybrid features plenty of technology. On the rangefinder side, the Hybrid has a range of 400 yards and is accurate to within one yard. Additionally, it features 5X magnification, which is ideal visually, as well as Bushnell’s Fast Focus System, which makes it easy for golfers to focus the device and get locked in on the target. Most notable, however, is the incorporation of Bushnell’s highly popular Jolt Technology, as the Hybrid will vibrate when golfers get locked in on the correct target, giving them the feedback they need to know they have the right yardage. On the GPS side, more than 36,000 courses in 30 countries are preloaded to the device, which also features Auto Course Recognition. Additionally, the Hybrid has bluetooth capability that allows players to get updated course data and add new courses as they become available. In addition to the actual yardage to the pin that the rangefinder produces, the GPS readout on the display screen will also offer yardages to the front, back, and center of each green. And finally, up to four hazard distances will be provided to players per hole.
