Used, Senior Ping G425 SFT Driver
Who’s It For?
PING has always delivered an excellent combination of distance, forgiveness, and consistency off the tee with its drivers. The new PING G425 drivers, introduced in 2021, are no different. PING has combined innovations of the past with new features to take MOI to heights never seen before. Of the three models, the G425 SFT is best suited for golfers with more moderate swing speeds or golfers who frequently slice the ball, as the center of gravity positioned more in the heel allows these players to turn the clubhead over more efficiently at impact. The G425 Max will fit the widest range of golfers, while the G425 LST is geared toward fast swingers or players that generate a lot of spin.
The Tech Story
PING took MOI to the Max with the G425 SFT driver with improvements to DragonFly Technology have created more weight savings that have been positioned at distinctive settings over a smaller area than G410 drivers to help bring the center of gravity lower and farther back without sacrificing performance. The center of gravity is shifted into the heel to promote a draw bias thanks to a 23-gram fixed tungsten weight. This bias creates up to a 25-yard difference in right-to-left ball flight compared to the G425 Max. The G425 SFT also features T9S+ forged clubface that flexes at impact and an internal rib structure inside the Ti-8-1-1 body that delivers a pleasing sound. And of course, the G425 Max driver also includes PING’s trademark turbulators on the crown that increase clubhead speed through aerodynamics. Last but not last, PING’s 8-lobe Trajectory Tuning 2.0 Adjustable Hosel allows golfers to adjust loft and lie to fit their preferred launch and spin characteristics.
