Who’s It For?
PING has always thrived when it comes to delivering consistency. Somehow, PING has improved its consistency in fairway woods with the new G425 fairway wood lineup, which includes three distinct models that each offer different playability characteristics. Of course, consistency is one thing all three models boast. The G425 LST fairway wood is designed with a more forward center of gravity, which is best suited for golfers with high swing speeds and golfers that generate a lot of spin.
The Tech Story
A couple of key innovations from PING engineers power the performance in the PING G425 fairway woods. Facewrap Technology consists of a thin, high-strength maraging steel face that extends into the crown and the sole. This design increases face flexing in order to produce faster ball speeds, more distance, and higher launch. Additionally, Spinsistency ramps up the consistency in PING G425 fairway woods. To achieve this, PING made a complex face curvature that modifies the roll profile, particularly low on the face where the loft decreases by 2.5 degrees. This results in better performance, especially on popular mis-hits low on the face. The G425 LST fairway wood includes a high-density tungsten weight positioned to generate a penetrating ball flight and low spin. Additionally, PING’s Trajectory Tuning 2.0 adjustable hosel allows for loft and lie adjustments to fine-tune launch and spin.
