Bridgestone e12 Soft Matte Green Golf Balls
Who’s It For?
Bridgestone’s clout as a manufacturers of high-performance has grown quickly over the years, building a staff of PGA Tour professionals that includes Tiger Woods, Bryson DeChambeau, and Matt Kuchar. Throughout the years producing premium golf balls, Bridgestone engineers have noted that recreational players require different golf ball characteristics than the best players in the world. The e12 series is the newest installment of Bridgestone’s three-piece ball suited for mid- to high-handicap players. Specifically, the e12 Soft is built for swing speeds less than 105 miles per hour. Recreational players with higher swing speeds will want to check out the e12 Speed.
The Tech Story
The e12 series replaces the successful e6 line that was created to produce straight shots and piercing ball flights. Many of the same technologies from the e6 are also instituted in the e12, such as the drag-reducing Delta Wing Dimple pattern and aerodynamic surlyn cover that reduce side spin to help the ball maintain straight trajectories in both calm and windy conditions. The key new addition to the e12 series that was not present in the e6 series is the Active Acceleration Mantle, a brand new layer between the core and the cover. It consists of a new high performance polymer with added surfacant that creates a more cohesive bond between the core and the cover, generating more thrust and energy throughout the golf ball at impact. The e12 Soft golf balls have a 50 overall compression, making them more suitable for swing speeds under 105 miles per hour to help launch the ball into the air with a little bit more ease than the e12 Speed.
