The utility iron has long been an excellent option for golfers looking for a club that possesses the precision of a long iron and the forgiveness of a hybrid. This year, Cobra took utility iron technology to a higher level with its new KING Utility Iron.

The KING Utility Iron features the new PWRSHELL face. This innovation is a forged insert that wraps around the sole and widens the sweet spot of the club. The result is higher and straighter ball flights, which is usually what golfers are looking for.

Thanks to the iron’s hollow body construction, the clubface is allowed to flex more than most utility irons, and this increased flex leads to extremely fast ball speeds across the face. Meanwhile, strategically-placed tungsten weighting in the clubhead also improves both forgiveness and ball speed. The 66 grams of tungsten is located right behind the club’s sweet spot, helping deliver a powerful punch at impact.

But while the KING Utility Iron is both extremely long and extremely forgiving, the club’s most impressive technical feature is its adjustability. The KING Utility Iron is one of the first utility clubs fitted with an adjustable loft sleeve on the neck. Now, thanks to the MyFly8 loft sleeve, golfers can tweak their club to better suit their game based on the user’s gapping preference and day-to-day course conditions.

The club is available as a 2-utility (adjustable from 16-19 degrees), a 3-utility (adjustable from 18-21 degrees), and a 4-utility (adjustable from 21-24 degrees). Every KING Utility Iron is essentially two clubs for the price of one, thanks to this incredible new innovation from Cobra.

Cobra’s KING Utility Irons feature two different stock shaft options. The first is the KBS $ Taper Lite shaft, available in both Stiff and Regular flex. The second stock shaft option is the Project X Catalyst, available in either X-Stiff, Stiff, or Regular flex. Generally, the KBS $ Taper Lite shafts produce a slightly higher, high-spin ball flight, while the Project X Catalyst shafts produce a more penetrating, low-spin ball flight.

Every KING Utility Iron is fitted with an Arccos embedded grip sensor that allows the golfer to connect with the Arccos Caddie app. This connection provides players with a better way to track performance by providing them with data about each and every shot.

The KING Utility Iron combines a classic, iron-like profile with cutting-edge technology. This club is not just attractive, it can be trusted to both find the fairway on a tight par-4 and launch the ball high and land soft on the green. With the addition of the MyFly8 loft sleeve, the KING Utility Iron packs four different degrees and eight overall loft options into one club.

Cobra’s KING Utility Iron is a must-have for those who currently prefer utility irons to traditional long irons or hybrids. For those that have never dipped their toe into the utility iron waters, give this club a look. The KING Utility Iron’s combination of power, forgiveness, and adjustability is tough to beat anywhere on the golf equipment market.
