One of the trends in Scottie Scheffler's game this year has been his ability to bounce back. Scheffler leads the PGA Tour with a 34.04 percent bounce back rate, which means he's shooting below par on over a third of the holes following a bogey or worse. That trend also extends to his overall performance. Following a lackluster U.S. Open performance, Scheffler bounced back a week later with another win at the Travelers Championship. With his playoff victory over Tom Kim at The Travelers, Scheffler becomes the first player since Tiger Woods in 2009 to win 6 times in one season, and he still has plenty of golf left to add to that total, and could potentially join or surpass Tiger and Vijay Singh's record of 9 wins in a season.

Scheffler's dominance has all happened with the same winning setup featuring a heavy TaylorMade bag with a few Titleist and a couple Srixon clubs mixed in.

Driver: TaylorMade Qi10

Shaft: Fujikura Ventus Black 7 X

Scheffler continues to play with the TaylorMade Qi10 core model. He plays an 8 degree head and has it adjusted up to 8.25 degrees, and plays with a 45” Fujikura Ventus Black 7X shaft in it for a D4 Swing Weight. Scottie was once again one of the the top drivers of the golf ball during his victory. He averaged just over 301 yards off the tee, 30th best in the field, and he hit 47 of 57 fairways for a remarkable 82.46 percent of fairways hit, 3rd best in the tournament. That combination helped Scheffler gain 3.875 Strokes off The Tee, which was 4th best in the field.

3-Wood: TaylorMade Qi10

Shaft: Fujikura Ventus Black 8 X

Like his driver, Scheffler games the TaylorMade Qi10 core model for his 3-wood. He plays a 15 degree head at 14.25 degrees. He plays with a 42 5/16” Fujikura Ventus Black 8X shaft in it. He has the shaft tipped 1.5” and a D3 swing weight. This club gives Scheffler another club off the tee, and helped in that Strokes Gained Off The Tee performance.

Irons: Srixon ZU85 (3,4), TaylorMade P7TW (5-PW)

Shafts: Nippon N.S. Pro Modus 3 Hybrid Prototype 10 X (3), True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue X100

Scheffler's Srixon ZU85 utility irons and TaylorMade P7TW's continue to be one of the top performing sections of his bag. He hit 65 of the 73 Greens In Regulation, which was 2nd best in the field. That played a key part in his Strokes Gained Approach To Green performance, where he finished 6th, gaining 4.364 strokes on the field.

Wedges: Titleist Vokey Design SM8 (50-12F, 56-14F), Vokey Design Wedgeworks (60-T)

Shafts: True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue S400

Scheffler's wedges played a major factor in his Strokes Gained Approach numbers, including a superb wedge on the playoff hole that setup his two-putt par for the win. But his wedges were solid even when Scheffler did miss the green. On the 8 times he missed the green on approach, Scheffler got up-and-down on 5 of those opportunities, which helped limit giving too many strokes back. In fact, he gained 1.735 strokes on the field around the green.

Putter: TaylorMade Spider Tour X

Grip: Golf Pride Pro Only

What else is there to say about Scottie's improved performance on the greens?  He switched to a TaylorMade Spider Tour X months ago, and his putting has gotten way more consistent, which has been key for this run he's been on. His Spider X is 35.5” long, has 3 degrees of loft, and a lie angle of 72 degrees. He goes with a TaylorMade L-Neck hosel, a Surlyn Pure Roll Insert and then True Path with Full Line site line for his setup. Scheffler finished middle of the pack in Putts per GIR, and wasn't hitting long putts constantly, finishing 16th in the tournament in total feet of putts made. But he was solid on the putting surface all tournament long, finishing 16th in Strokes Gained Putting, gaining 2.54 strokes on the field from the green.
