Cobra KING Black Utility Utility Iron
Who’s It For
A growing trend among professional golfers and amateurs with lower handicaps is the use of a utility club as opposed to a hybrid or traditional long iron. The reason for that decision is twofold. First, the straight face of a utility club allows players to shape shots and control trajectory more easily than they can with a hybrid. And second, utility clubs provide more ball speed and higher launch conditions than traditional long irons. If that combination sounds like something your game could use, the Cobra KING Utility Black is among the best options in golf in terms of look, performance, and feel. It’s also unique in that it offers a loft sleeve that gives players the ability to adjust loft by +/-1.5 degree to get exactly what they’re looking for in terms of ball flight and distance.
The Tech Story
There’s a lot going on from a technology standpoint that’s contributing to impressive performance when it comes to the Cobra KING Utility Black irons. A fully hollow design enables a thinner, unsupported clubface that increases ball speed and also helps lower the CG position to provide improved launch conditions. The clubface is constructed using high-strength 455 stainless steel, which also contributes to faster ball speeds from across the face, while PWRSHELL Face Technology expands the sweet spot of the KING Utility Black irons to provide more consistent distance results on off-center strikes. The grooves, meanwhile, have been 100 percent CNC milled, which will give players consistent spin rates, which is crucial when it comes to consistent distance. Also of note, high-density tungsten has been positioned in the toe of the clubhead, which helps lower and center the CG position to enhance stability at impact and produce naturally higher launch. And last but not least, the KING Utility Black irons will feature COBRA CONNECT technology, which allows players to track statistics during their rounds to better identify strengths and weaknesses.
