Who’s It For?

After introducing the ChipR in 2022, PING has released the ChipR Le, a short-game solution designed exclusively for women. It combines elements of a putter and a wedge to help golfers perform better around the green. It is designed for players of all skill levels.

The Tech Story

The ChipR Le was inspired by PING Founder Karsten Solheim’s PING Chipo, which was introduced in the late 1970’s, as a club for players that lacked confidence with a wedge around the green.The ChipR Le features an Investment-cast 431 stainless steel head. Within that head is a multi-material cavity badge, tungsten toe weight and a precision-milled face and grooves, which help deliver consistent and predictable trajectories for improved control around the green. The ChipR Le is the length of a putter, but has a loft of 38.5°, closer to a 9-iron. Designed for shots within 40 yards of the green, players can use a putting-like stroke to hit more bump-and-run style shots. That’s aided by the ChipR Le’s compact size and shallow face which optimizes its performance, and provides versatility from the rough to the fringe.
