Callaway Golf is framing the future of speed with the new Epic drivers, available in 2021. The use of Artificial Intelligence has proven successful in the past couple of generations of Callaway drivers, so the company invested more into A.I. in order to further maximize performance. The Epic Speed model is the fastest Callaway driver ever and will fit the widest range of players by providing high launch and low spin. The Epic Max is designed with the most forgiveness of the three Epic drivers, while the Epic Max LS is a lower-spinning model.

The Tech Story

In addition to Artificial Intelligence, Jailbreak Technology has been exceptional in driving the performance of Callaway drivers in the past few generations. With that said, Callaway saw an opportunity to also use A.I. to further improve Jailbreak. The result is the new Jailbreak Speed Frame. Prior Jailbreak construction consisted of two internal vertical bars. The new Jailbreak Speed Frame expands to cover more area inside the clubface and provide horizontal stability in addition to vertical stability. This increases ball speeds on contact made all across the clubface. Speaking of the clubface, the A.I.-designed Flash Face is specifically engineered to work with the Jailbreak Speed Frame to deliver the explosive distance. Meanwhile, the Epic Speed is the fastest of the three Epic driver models thanks to the advanced aerodynamic head construction that promotes lower drag for more clubhead speed. Callaway’s proprietary Triaxial carbon material covers a large portion of the crown, which created over 16 grams of weight savings (compared to a titanium crown) that has been redistributed to optimize performance.
