Who’s It For?

Cobra Golf has been fantastic when it comes to metal woods for decades. Recently, innovations such as a CNC Milled Infinity Face and adjustable weighting have taken Cobra metal woods to a new level. In 2021, Cobra has introduced the RAD Speed drivers featuring a new Radial Weighting system that further optimizes the weight within the clubhead for maximum performance. The RAD Speed XB driver is designed with more weighting toward the back of the clubhead to help golfers looking for higher MOI and launch.

The Tech Story

The RAD Speed drivers aren’t named for their “rad” look and design. RAD actually comes from the term Radial Weighting, which is where Cobra engineers focused their efforts to improve performance over previous Cobra drivers. Specifically, Cobra has increased the Radius of Gyration by positioning the sole weights farther behind the center of gravity, increasing MOI and optimizing spin and ball speeds in each of the three driver models. The XB in RAD Speed XB stands for Xtreme Back, as 20 grams of weight (14 fixed, six interchangeable) is positioned in the back of the clubhead. The Carbon Wrap Crown system features a new carbon fiber material that is 30% thinner, creating an additional six grams of discretionary weight that has been repositioned for better performance. The refined T-Bar Chassis is seven grams lighter for even more repositioned discretionary weight. In the RAD Speed XB model, this weight was moved low and back to increase launch and forgiveness. And of course, the CNC Milled Infinity Face returns in the RAD Speed drivers to increase the sweet spot.
