Who’s It For?

PING has taken note of the undesirable fade ball flight that many golfers are trying to correct and created the G410 SFT driver for those individuals. The G410 SFT driver resists unwanted fade trajectories while still including the newest updates found in the G410 Plus. The G410 SFT is perfect for right-handed golfers looking for a combination of the latest innovations and a fix for for their right side miss. However, golfers who don’t struggle with a persistent fade or block, or golfers who simply want more customization in their driver, will likely prefer to the G410 Plus.

The Tech Story

The Ti 9S+ forged clubface found on the G400 SFT and the G410 Plus drivers is also present on the G410 SFT to bring exceptionally high ball speeds and forgiveness across all impact areas. Upon contact, the forged face undergoes a unique heating process that produces a thinner, hotter impact zone that is precision machined for maximum flexing. PING’s trademark drag-reducing turbulators placed along the crown of the matte black clubhead amplify swing speed, reduce drag, and create a fast, powerful look at address. Additionally, the G410 SFT includes the 8-lobe Trajectory Tuning system, which is a lightweight, aerodynamic hosel sleeve design that provides eight positions for golfers to customize their trajectories through loft and lie adjustments. The most noteworthy innovation included in the G410 SFT, though, is the heel-biased weighting that promotes a right-to-left shot shape for right-handed golfers. PING placed the stationary 16-gram tungsten weight’s mass 50 percent more heel-side (compared to the G400 SFT) which, in conjunction with a lighter swing weight (D1), will help golfers turn the clubface over on the downswing and create a desired draw trajectory.

PING G410 Plus, G410 SFT Driver Review

2nd Swing caught up with PING Vice President of Fitting and Performance Marty Jertson at PING headquarters in Phoenix to find out more about the new G410 Plus and G410 SFT drivers. Most notable about the G410 Plus is that movable weight settings have been added to the perimeter of the driver to provide more customization options for players. The G410 SFT, meanwhile, will as of PING’s SFT models have done in the past, helps players fight a slice or a block. And both new models feature a faster clubface for more ball speed and a new adjustable hosel that offers additional settings to help golfers maximize performance.
