The Tech Story
Callaway’s main goals with the Big Bertha Fusion fairway woods were to increase forgiveness and speed. To accomplish this, the company introduced a new ultra-light triaxial carbon crown that is 78 percent lighter than a typical steel crown. This radical change allowed Callaway to shift a large amount of excess weight around the clubhead to maximize forgiveness and increase the amount of ball speed the club could generate. The Big Bertha Fusion fairway woods also feature Callaway’s signature Hyper Speed Face Cup technology, which helps to create a hot face that can produce jaw-dropping ball speed numbers.
