Callaway Mavrik Max Fairway Wood
Who’s It For?
The Callaway Mavrik fairway woods are the first from Callaway to include clubfaces that are fully optimized by Artificial Intelligence. Every Mavrik fairway wood features a unique, A.I.-designed Flash Face to work specifically with the size, shape, and center of gravity location of that particular model. The Mavrik Max fairway wood is the largest and most forgiving clubhead of the Mavrik fairways and boasts a tremendous MOI and interchangeable weights to promote max forgiveness or max draw bias. The standard Mavrik fairway wood is the fastest of the Mavrik fairway woods and will fit the widest range of golfers with its low center of gravity and large, expansive hitting area. The Mavrik Sub Zero fairway wood offers a more compact head shape with a forward center of gravity and interchangeable weights for golfers seeking low spin, workability, and adjustability.
The Tech Story
Callaway introduced Flash Face technology in 2019 by creating Epic Flash drivers with a clubface designed by Artificial Intelligence. The success prompted more investment into the A.I. approach, and the result is a unique Flash Face SS20 for each model in the Mavrik series. The unique Flash Face SS20 promotes optimized speed and spin for the golfers that will be fit into each model. The faces are also built with a unique forged C300 maraging steel material that is both strong and resilient at impact, generating high ball speeds that extend well across the face. The Mavrik Max fairway wood offers two interchangeable weights (14 grams and two grams) on the sole that can be positioned in the rear or in the heel to promote max forgiveness or max draw bias. Callaway also implemented an enhanced Face Cup, which has been successful in past Callaway woods. Jailbreak Technology is also included, a highly-successful technology that includes two internal bars just behind the clubface that connect the sole and the crown together to increase the transfer of energy at impact and add stability to the clubhead.
