Mizuno has made significant strides in the woods department over the years, and it shows the new Mizuno ST-X fairway woods. Featuring a clean look and several technologies, the ST-X 220 fairway woods are designed to deliver exceptional forgiveness and high launch for all golfers. Additionally, the ST-X 220 model also includes a slight draw bias for golfers that may struggle with a slice or a block miss.
The Tech Story
The Mizuno ST-X 220 fairway woods are powered by unique clubface materials. In the 3-wood, the clubface is made from the same material as the ST 220 drivers: SAT2041 Beta Titanium, which is 17 percent stronger than titanium usually used in drivers. In the 5-wood and 7-wood, the MAS1C CORTECH face is slightly thinner to better fit the smaller clubhead. In both models, the clubface combines with CORTECH technology to deliver higher COR and ball speeds across the whole face. Both fairway woods also include WAVE technology, which adds speed on contact made low on the clubface to help aid the ball into the air. Additionally, the Ultra Thin Waffle Crown provides a lower center of gravity and further enhances a higher launch, while the Harmonic Impact Technology ensure a solid and powerful sound.
