PING’s G410 LST fairway wood replaces the G400 Stretch as the manufacturer’s latest low-spin fairway club. It’s designed to get the ball off the ground easier while maintaining a low, straight ball flight. PING’s terrific reputation in producing drivers and fairway woods is validated with its design of the G410 LST fairway wood. This club is perfect for golfers searching for a low trajectory option either off the tee or for golfers frequently playing in windy conditions. However, golfers searching for increased forgiveness and customization should seek out the G410 standard model while golfers trying to get rid of unwanted fade trajectory might want to try the G410 SFT.
The Tech Story
Thanks to adjustments to the CG location and clubhead shape, the new G410 LST fairway wood has increased launch while decreasing spin to produce flatter, straighter trajectories. The G410 LST includes an extremely strong and flexible maraging steel clubface that allows for faster ball speeds across all impact areas. The marquee improvement to the G410 LST fairway wood from the similar G400 Stretch fairway wood is the shift in CG location. As is the case with the G410 standard fairway wood, the G410 LST’s CG is aligned with the force line. Unique to the G410 LST, however, is that the CG location is placed closer to the face. This results in a one degree increase in launch angle, five percent increase in max height and a spin decrease of 300 rpm compared to the G400 Stretch, all of which help create further carry. Meanwhile, the smaller clubhead size of 159cc, 11 percent smaller than the G400 Stretch, includes PING’s trademark turbulators on the crown to reduce drag on the downswing by 40 percent and overall by 15 percent. The combination of innovations PING brings to the G410 LST fairway wood results in a lower, straighter fairway wood option that should find itself in plenty of golf bags very soon.
