Cleveland Golf’s original Halo hybrid was groundbreaking in the golf market in the mid-2000s, offering the very first inverted crown design which allowed for more mass to be moved deeper and lower for added forgiveness and higher launch. The new Cleveland Launcher Halo hybrid is based on that philosophy with updated technology to help all golfers hit it higher and farther from every lie.
The Tech Story
The key technology that comes with the new Cleveland Launcher Halo hybrid is Gliderail Technology that’s visible on the sole. Cleveland used its own artificial intelligence machine to test 30 different sole designs before ultimately deciding on the sole with the Gliderails, which performed best from all different lies and turf conditions. Cleveland has conducted research that has stated that a majority of approach shots hit from long iron or hybrid distances are not hit from the fairway but from a variety of other lies such as rough or sand. The goal with Gliderail Technology is to help golfers launch the ball into the air from those difficult lies and attack the green. Additionally, the Launcher Halo hybrid also includes Cleveland’s patented HiBore Crown, which helps push more weight low and deep in the clubhead to optimize the center of gravity for ideal high launch conditions. The variable thickness clubface is built from high strength HT1770M steel that generates explosive ball speeds.
