Who’s It For

Cobra has had great success with its recent hybrids thanks in large part to Baffler Technology, which will once again be a key feature of the new KING F9 Speedback hybrids. Additionally, players can expect to see ball speed increases and more effortless launch from the F9 hybrids when compared to previous generations. Combine those performance features with improved stability at impact and a new, more forgiving footprint and you have hybrids that will fit a wide array of players. Also of note, as was the case with the KING F8 hybrids, Cobra is offering a one-length version of the F9 hybrids to help golfers who play one-length irons more seamlessly integrate the hybrids they want and need with their iron set.

The Tech Story

As is the case across the F9 Speedback lineup, the F9 hybrids feature a low, deep CG position that is fueling faster ball speeds, higher launch, and enhanced forgiveness on off-center strikes. A fixed back weight helps key that performance, as does a profile that is 10 percent larger than the F8 hybrids offered, which has increased MOI significantly. In terms of ball speed, a thin, high-strength forged 455 stainless steel clubface leads the charge, while the highly popular Baffler rails that are incorporated into the sole design not only help players maintain clubhead speed through the turf but also help keep the clubface square through impact for improved accuracy regardless of strike location. And finally, the new F9 hybrids will come standard with COBRA CONNECT technology, allowing players to pair their hybrid(s) with their smartphone through a sensor that’s embedded in the butt end of the grip to track stats and identify shot tendencies.
