The Callaway Big Bertha irons were designed to maximize forgiveness. The deep cavity in the back of the club increases the Moment of Inertia. This resistance to twisting keeps the face square at impact even if that impact is off-center. The wide sole increases playability and the bore-through shaft improves stability and feel at impact.
