Callaway Apex Pro 19 Iron Set
Who’s It For?
With the Apex Pro 19 irons, Callaway delivers golfers distance when it’s needed from the longer irons and precision when it’s needed from the shorter irons. This is Callaway’s first ever forged Tour performance iron set that also includes advanced distance technologies, such as 360 Face Cup. These irons are terrific for low-handicap players who want the benefits of a Tour-level design without sacrificing ball speed or distance. However, golfers in search of extra distance and forgiveness should take a look at the 2019 Big Bertha irons, while low-handicap golfers looking for more distance from their irons will likely benefit the most from the Apex 19 irons. A sleek new grey smoke finish is also available for the Apex 19 and Apex Pro 19 irons, for those who prefer that over a chrome finish.
The Tech Story
Callaway used extensive input from some of the world’s best players to create the Apex Pro 19 irons. Their detailed feedback played a significant role in how Callaway created an iron with a Tour look and feel that fit the eye of the best. The Apex Pro 19 irons contain a straighter leading edge, higher toe, thinner top line and a smoother hosel transition than the Apex 19 irons for increased turf interaction, precision, and workability to produce Tour-level performance. The powerful distance and feel attributes in the Apex 19 irons are also present in the Apex Pro 19 irons. The forged 1025 mild carbon steel body and urethane microspheres produce extremely soft feel at impact. For the first time, Callaway designed a forged Tour performance iron with its urethane microspheres included, which contain over one million tiny air pockets that absorb unwanted vibration without slowing the face for exceptional sound and feel. And for premium distance and high ball speeds, especially in the long and mid irons, the Apex Pro 19 irons include the innovative 360 Face Cup technology, which is composed of a flexible rim around the perimeter of the face that flexes and releases at impact to ignite high ball speeds across the entire contact area. Extra shot-making with the short irons is made possible in the form of a spin control VFT face. Additionally, Callaway infused roughly 50 grams of tungsten to position the CG uniquely in each iron for pinpoint control. The result of all of these innovations is a set of irons that has explosive distance and the looks, feel, and control desired by the best players in the world.
