Miura IC-601 Iron Set
Who’s It For
The latest trend in iron construction is the hollow-body design, and Miura’s entry into that category is the new IC-601. The use of a hollow cavity allows designers to utilize a thinner clubface, which equates to more ball speed and distance. While that’s certainly the case with the IC-601 irons, they also maintain the clean, classic shape and crisp, solid feel that Miura irons are known for. As such, these irons will be a great option for both low- and mid-handicappers and especially those who are looking for a few more yards.
The Tech Story
The hollow construction of the IC-601 irons came about in large part thanks to the success that Miura has had with hollow-body driving irons. From a design standpoint, the IC-601 irons are constructed using soft, forged S25C carbon steel and a 455 Carpenter steel clubface. The Carpenter steel is both lightweight and strong, which allows for the clubface to be thinner, with the result being more ball speed from across the face. The IC-601 irons also have a low, deep CG position and back weights that contribute to higher launch conditions and optimal stability at impact. Additionally, players have the option to utilize lighter or heavier weights in the back weight port to fine tune their launch conditions, swing weights, and feel.
