Few iron designs ever have delivered on the promise of explosive speed and distance like the P790 iron models. The 2023 TaylorMade P790 offers more of the same, but with even more optimization. The result is an iron that checks all the boxes for the low-to-mid handicap golfer seeking an added boost of distance and forgiveness without sacrificing a pleasing sound and feel.

The Tech Story

Highlighting the technology within the 2023 TaylorMade P790 irons is the FLTD CG, which strategically positions the center of gravity lower in the longer irons and progressively higher in the shorter irons. This design delivers better launch and forgiveness when it’s needed, while simultaneously providing better control where that’s needed. An advanced thick-thin back wall construction strategically redistributes mass throughout each clubhead in the set for ideal mass optimization. The 2023 P790 irons also have a new larger sweet spot, which intelligently captures more shots while ensuring ball speeds and accuracy remain reliable. Technologies from previous P790 models are also implemented, such as SpeedFoam Air, a forged L-Face, Speed Pocket, and up to 38 grams of tungsten weighting, all of which help deliver lightning fast ball speeds and ball speed retention on off-center strikes.
