Wilson Staff D7 Iron Set
Who’s It For?
The D7 irons represent the newest super game improvement iron release from Wilson Staff and feature a new progressive approach to the Power Holes along the sole of the irons to enhance both face flexing and turf interaction. Traditionally, Wilson products with a ‘D’ in their names suggest that the product is distance oriented. The D7 irons, specifically, have been designed to help golfers with moderate to low swing speed generate more ball speed and more forgiveness on off-center hits.
The Tech Story
Wilson Staff’s D7 irons feature a number of technologies catered toward forgiveness and distance. The most remarkable of them is the Power Holes technology, which consists of polymer-filled cutouts along the sole to improve face flexing and turf interaction for smooth, powerful contact. In the D7 irons, Wilson took a progressive approach to implementing the Power Holes to better fit each club. The 4- through 7-irons feature three rows of Power Holes, while the 8- and 9-irons have two rows and the pitching wedge features one row. This will allow golfers to hit more scoring shots with the shorter clubs. The Power Holes work with the thinnest face insert Wilson has ever instituted in a super game improvement iron to take distance and forgiveness to new levels. Wilson also made structural changes, such as a thinner top line and a slightly reduced offset to create a more appealing look at address.
