Who’s It For?
While TaylorMade is perhaps most known for its drivers and fairway woods, the manufacturer’s putters have been tremendous over the years at providing golfers with high MOI and forgiveness on the greens. Over 40 percent of golf shots for most players are hit with a putter, so using a putter with as much technology as possible is a huge bonus. The new Spider GT Max series is the latest TaylorMade Spider putter family and features movable weight technology, expanded shaping, and a new face insert. The Spider GT Max Single Bend putter is face balanced to best-fit golfers with a straight-back, straight-through putting stroke.
The Tech Story
The key feature in the TaylorMade Spider GT Max putter series is the sliding weight track providing adjustability only previously seen in metal woods. The 98g weight track boasts three different positions, with position 1 being the highest-MOI setting, and position 3 being the setting with the most toe hang. The Spider GT Max family sets a new standard for performance and construction, as tungsten weights on the heel and toe lead to superb forgiveness. TaylorMade’s trademark Pure Roll insert has been updated for a firmer feel and consists of manufactured black TPU urethane with silver aluminum beams at a 45-degree angle designed to promote topspin. Golfers will also notice the True Path Alignment cues on the head that create an easy and accurate setup.
