TaylorMade Spider Mini Copper Putter
Who’s It For
TaylorMade’s new Spider Mini putters were created to give golfers the Spider performance they love in a streamlined package. Key, however, is that despite the smaller footprint, the Spider Mini will offer as much forgiveness as its larger Spider counterpart on off-center strikes. Also of note is that the Copper Spider Mini features a slant neck hosel, which means they’ll work best for players with slight arcs to moderate arcs in their stroke.
The Tech Story
Spider putters have been incredibly popular with touring professionals and recreational players alike. That being the case, TaylorMade wasn’t looking to reinvent the wheel with the Spider Mini, rather just give players another visual option. More specifically, the Spider Mini features a head shape that is 15 percent smaller than the Spider Tour putter. That said, it still features ample perimeter weighting, which will help golfers enjoy better speed and distance control on mis-hits. The Spider Mini also utilizes TaylorMade’s new “T-Sightline,” which helps replicate what players would see from an alignment standpoint when looking down at a traditional blade. Also of note, an adjustable weight port in the sole of the Spider Mini putter allows players to dial in their preferred feel and weight, and its Pure Roll insert, which helps get the ball rolling more quickly as opposed to skidding, has been made slightly thicker to provide optimal feel and feedback.
