Used TaylorMade Spider Tour X L Neck Putter
Who’s It For?
Putt like Scottie Scheffler by using the same putter as he does with the Spider Tour X L-Neck putter. Over the last couple of decades, TaylorMade Spider putters have spearheaded a revolution in putter design and construction. Sure, there’s still a large contingent of golfers that prefer a traditional blade-style putter, but the percentage of golfers playing a high-MOI mallet-style putter continues to grow, and much of that movement can be attributed to the many iterations of TaylorMade Spider putters. Scheffler recently made the switch to a Spider Tour X mallet, opting for the L-Neck putter, which has slight toe hang, ideally suited for golfers with a slight arc in their putting stroke.
The Tech Story
The TaylorMade Spider Tour Series putters include a number of technologies ultimately created to deliver exceptional forgiveness and stability. A new Thin Wall Undercut Construction removes excess weight to further improve MOI, while a Steel Wireframe allows engineers to better control weight distribution and the center of gravity location. Meanwhile, TSS weights provide balanced weighting and help optimize performance for each model. To improve the feel, TaylorMade implemented its HYBRAR Echo dampener behind the face to dampen unwanted vibrations and ultimately deliver superb sound and feel. The face insert itself is what TaylorMade calls a White TPU Pure Roll insert and it’s made from a combination of Surlyn and aluminum. The grooves on the insert are angled at 45 degrees to encourage optimal forward roll immediately upon impact. Additionally, True Path Alignment technology is visible on each putter head at address, designed to help golfers line up their putts correctly through better visual clarity.
