Cobra RAD Speed Single Iron
Who’s It For?
Cobra Golf has always been one of the industry’s best when it comes to innovation and finding unique ways to build golf clubs for better performance. The RAD Speed product line, including the RAD Speed irons, is not different. The RAD Speed irons feature new Radial Weighting combined with technologies that were successful in past Cobra iron models. The result is distance, forgiveness, and easy launch. These irons are best designed for mid- to high-handicap players seeking more distance or forgiveness from their irons. The RAD Speed irons are also available in One Length, in which all irons are the same length to create a repeatable swing plane.
The Tech Story
The primary story with all RAD Speed products is the all-new Radial Weighting, a new weighting system that optimizes the center of gravity and ultimately improves performance. In the RAD Speed irons, 10 grams and 3 grams of weight is positioned in the toe and heel areas, respectively, to create the best combination of speed, low spin, and stability. Meanwhile, the center of gravity is also centered to help performance on mis-hits. Cobra’s PWRSHELL technology also returns in the RAD Speed irons, which consists of a forged face insert made of 17-4 stainless steel. It increases face flexing around the sweet spot for faster ball speeds and higher launch. Additionally, the RAD Speed irons are also made with the help of 3D printing that allows for unlimited complexity in design. The intricate lattice medallion structure constructed from 3D printing saves weight and fine-tunes feel at impact. The RAD Speed irons are also available in One Length, in which all irons are the same length to create a repeatable swing plane.
