Mizuno Pro 221 Single Iron
Who’s It For?
Few manufacturers, if any, in golf have created more consistently beautiful and functional irons than Mizuno. The company’s newest iron sets stem from their Pro line, which includes the 221, 223, and 225 irons. All three of these models underwent Mizuno’s famed grain flow forging process, and each sport a copper underlay to further increase feel at impact. Also, each model is designed for a different type of golfer. This model, the Mizuno Pro 221, is built for the low handicap golfer seeking enhanced precision and workability.
The Tech Story
The technological innovations featured in the Mizuno Pro 221 Irons make them some of the most responsive, accurate irons available to the golf public. Grain flow forged from a single billet of 1025E mild carbon steel, these irons feature that classic, soft Mizuno feel that the company is famous for. Also, a new tour-proven sole with a new camber level has improved turf interaction during the strike. Finally, the optimized graduated Tapered Blades help ensure a penetrating ball flight in the higher-lofted irons and a precise center of gravity throughout the set.
