The Titleist 710 AP1 irons build on the success of the original AP1's to provide the average player with a high performance iron that is forgiving enough for mid to high handicappers. The design team at Titleist took it upon themselves to reduce the harsh vibrations that cause poor feel in irons to combine performance with great feel. The combination of an elastomer insert and aluminum cavity plate allowed them to accomplish this. The tungsten nickel sole moves weight lower to produce higher initial launch angles. The face is thinner in the 710 AP1's than the original set to produce greater ball speeds for increased distance.
