The new 2021 TaylorMade P790 UDI is the latest utility iron offering from TaylorMade. With the P790 UDI, TaylorMade’s goal was to deliver both control and distance to the skilled golfers or the golfers with a high swing speed. The Tech Story
Highlighting the technology for the 2021 TaylorMade P790 UDI is SpeedFoam Air, which is a new take on TaylorMade’s SpeedFoam technology. SpeedFoam Air is 69% lighter than previous P790 models, which provides 3.5 grams of weight savings that is positioned elsewhere in the clubhead to optimize mass properties for better launch conditions. Additionally, the new 8620 carbon steel construction makes the head thinner by up to 37.5% in strategic locations, allowing for a much lower center of gravity. The new thin-wall design teams up with a 4140 steel L-Face to provide explosive power and flexibility. The new construction also allowed for 22 grams of tungsten to be positioned in the toe for added forgiveness and stability. TaylorMade’s trademark Thru-Slot Speed Pocket, visible on the sole, also adds face flexibility and improves performance on low face strikes.
