The Staff Model Utility Iron from Wilson Staff has been designed to provide golfers with a long, reliable, and forgiving option from the tee or the turf. Utility irons are becoming more and more popular in golf as a replacement for long irons or hybrids. The Staff Model Utility presents a footprint that looks like a long iron, but it houses the performance of a hybrid. It will appeal to golfers that want a bit more distance forgiveness at the top of their iron set but don’t want to sacrifice the traditional iron appearance.
The Tech Story
The Staff Model Utility iron was originally created as a prototype for members of the professional staff to use on the PGA Tour. It received great reviews among all who played it, and it is now being made available to all golfers. The technology in these utility irons is headlined by a hollow body long iron construction that has been refined to deliver optimized launch angles at each available loft. The clubface is made of high-strength C300 maraging steel, which is proven to deliver greater ball speeds across the entire face so every shot travels farther. Wilson Staff also added seven grams of weight positioned in the sole of the club to drop the center of gravity and improve forgiveness.
