Who’s It For?
Perhaps the most important set of clubs in any golf bag is the wedges. They’re the scoring clubs that set up short putts. The new Mizuno ES21 wedges are designed to be predictable and consistent, featuring a multi-piece stainless steel construction that delivers the right amount of forgiveness and spin. Most notable in these wedges is a centralized sweet spot, different from the sweet spot slightly on the heel in most wedges, that will allow more golfers to find the center of the clubface consistently. Golfers searching for more consistency around the greens will enjoy the ES21 wedges. Of course, as is the case with any wedge, it’s important to make sure the sole grind and bounce matches up with your swing. The ES21 wedges include a Standard and Wide sole option.
The Tech Story
The Mizuno ES21 wedges are designed with a hollow body stainless steel 431 construction creates a higher, deeper center of gravity and more vertical gear effect. The updated sweet spot enables more consistent contact that results in more grab with the grooves, therefore creating more spin. The grooves are CNC milled and quad-cut into durable Grain Flow forged Boron infused steel to deliver maximum spin plus soft feel. Meanwhile, HydroFlow Micro grooves are laser-etched to release moisture and reduce spin drop off.
