Who’s It For?

Mizuno’s forged irons generally get the spotlight, but its forged wedges need some recognition as well. The new T24 wedges from Mizuno feature the same forging process used in its irons, but with several other technologies specifically designed to sharpen any golfer’s short game. Of note, the T24 wedges are available in five distinct sole grinds that will benefit different types of swings. The S grind is the highest bounce and offers limited relief, which will work best for golfers with a steep angle of attack on full swings. The D grind offers mid bounce and moderate relief and will appeal to a wide range of golfers. The C grind offers generous relief and mid/high bounce for golfers that come in steep or play on soft turf that like to manipulate the clubface. The V grind is an aggressive relief offering for golfers needing high bounce. And finally, the X grind features low bounce and aggressive relief for golfers playing on firm conditions that need to manipulate the clubface.

The Tech Story

The Mizuno T24 wedges are forged in Hiroshima, Japan through Mizuno’s Grain Flow Forging process, where Mizuno irons have been produced since 1968. For these wedges, Mizuno produced one-piece HD boron forgings that look and feel incredible. There’s also a new Quad-Cut Groove design that optimizes six groove geometry parameters to deliver maximum spin. There are 15 grooves on 46-54 degree loft options for better performance on full swings, while the 56-60 degree loft options include 17 grooves for help on partial shots. The tapered blade design creates incremental vertical MOI for more consistent feel and spin. And of course, the HydroFlow Micro Grooves are laser etched to improve performance in wet conditions. The Blue finish is a new addition with the T24 wedges also available in: Satin Chrome, Denim Copper, or Raw.

MIZUNO T24 WEDGES | The Swing Report

The Mizuno T24 wedges represent the latest series of wedges from Mizuno built primarily for the tour player, featuring a traditional blade-like design and a smaller overall profile than the S23 wedges. With that said, the T24 wedges still deliver the performance necessary to help golfers improve their short games. In this video, 2nd Swing's Drew Mahowald and Michael Geiger test and review the Mizuno T24 wedges outside at the short game area at Les Bolstad Golf Course. Drew and Michael hit a few pitch shots and a few bunker shots to get an initial feel for how the T24 wedges perform all over the course.
