Designed specifically for shot-makers, the PING Glide Forged Pro Wedge sports an attractive profile and several innovations that boost versatility and feel. PING offers two different grind options: the S Grind, which features moderate bounce (10°) and a rounded lead edge, and the T Grind, which features a narrower sole and less bounce (6°). The S grind will appeal to the widest range of players, providing ample bounce and relief. The T grind, meanwhile, will especially appeal to players who like to manipulate the clubface around the greens and get creative with short game shots.
The Tech Story
The Glide Forged Pro wedges from PING are designed to allow golfers to be as precise as possible when attacking the hole. To create a tour-preferred shape, PING engineers gave the Glide Forged Pro a shorter heel-toe length and a slight amount of hosel relief. Wheel-cut, fully machined grooves generate consistent launch and spin control. The friction face also features an Emery blast finish and a Hydropearl 2.0 finish, both of which help ensure further consistency in any playing conditions. The PING Glide Forged Pro Wedges also boast a tremendous feel thanks to its forged 8620 carbon steel clubhead. Of note, PING added two new specialty loft options to the Glide Forged Pro wedges. The 59° S grind features PING’s iconic EYE 2 high-toe shaping and has slightly less bounce than the traditional S grind, but the appearance and the performance will appeal to many golfers. Additionally, the 62° T grind was asked for by tour professionals at Augusta, seeking a club that can perform on tight lies and generate spin.
