Titleist 2021 Pro V1x Golf Balls
Who’s It For?
Ever since the first Pro V1x debuted in 2003, three years following the release of the Pro V1, the ball has been a fixture in the bags of professionals and amateurs, alike. Somehow, every new Pro V1x release has improved on the previous one, an impressive feat for a ball that immediately saw huge success. But, this year’s stellar offering serves as proof that Titleist once again refused to rest on their laurels and delivered a top-shelf product. Like past Pro V1x generations, this ball is ideal for those who prefer a firmer, higher-spinning ball with a higher trajectory relative to the Pro V1.
The Tech Story
While the Pro V1x’s technology has always been cutting edge, the ball’s dimple design has been relatively similar since 2011. But, after testing almost 2,000 aerodynamic patterns and more than 30 different specific dimple layouts, the 348 dimples on the 2021 Pro V1x marks the first completely new dimple design on a Pro V1x model in over a decade. Titleist’s engineers also sought to make the ball longer and succeeded in doing so by introducing a reformulated 2.0 ZG Process Core in the dual-core ProV1x. To add more speed, while at the same time lowering long game spin, Titleist built a faster high-flex casing layer. To ensure that golfers retained a tremendous amount of greenside spin and short game control, they also created their softest urethane elastomer cover ever.
